Hamilton Beach 18 qt Roaster oven?
I have a Hamilton Beach 18 qt Roaster Oven. I make a turkey for dinner tonight. I placed Turkey in the butter with salt and pepper, onion and garlic. I also put about 4 cups of water in the bottom of the pan we will not prepare a sauce pot of sauce, we have, because my stepfather loves it. My question is: Do you think its well water? Is not not enough water? Does he need more water? My husband said he had no water right. Please let me know what you think I should do. Dinner is at 5PM thank you all for the answers.

The oven does not brown roast a turkey. The constant dripping of condensation from the lid of oven roasted turkey prevents browning. Use the oven to roast if you plan to use the sliced turkey, rather than presenting the whole turkey to the dinner table. Remove the grid. Pour 1 / 2 cup water the insert pan, cover and preheat to 325 degrees. Remove giblets and neck cavities of turkey. Set aside and use of Giblet sauce. Rinse bird inside and out with cold water. Place onion and celery inside turkey. Rub outside with salt and pepper. Place on a rack. Brush the entire turkey with butter. Place in roaster and cook 1 & 1 / 2 to 2 hours. Check meat thermometer reading. The turkey is cooked when the thermometer reads 180 degrees. Always thaw a frozen turkey in the refrigerator, not at room temperature. A frozen turkey will take 12-15 Pound 2-3 days to thaw in the refrigerator. If you're in a hurry by the time this size turkey can be thawed in cold water in 6-9 hours.
