Duo Water
Amsterdam is a city whose layout is determined by a network of canals radiating from a historical core to loop around the center. The city has continued to grow. As with cities usually it develops in the form of construction and architecture. Amsterdam has developed new channels as well. Four new canals of Amsterdam on the island of Java have been developed. Four narrow channels, Brantasgracht, Lamonggracht, Majanggracht Seranggracht and were built in 1995 and intertwine in this island. Extraordinary houses were built along these channels are to be seen. Some seem to be built higgledy-piggledy.
The houses and buildings built by modern architects are a sight to behold. Nineteen young and promising architects, including Rene van Zuuk and Bjarne Mastenbroek, designed homes. These architects were invited to design Amsterdam canal houses with a unique concept. The only thing that their models have in common is that each building is 4.5 meters wide and four to five storeys. The houses are not only unique but also interesting. In addition to the nine houses built bridges through the canals for cyclists and pedestrians are also unique and interesting. Artist Duo Rombours Guy and Monika Droste have designed. They created works art authentic.
The island of four brand new channels, Brantasgracht, Lamonggracht, and Majanggracht Seranggracht, are 1.5 meters below the docks. Just as intriguing and interesting are the nine bridges over the canals for cyclists and pedestrians. The houses along these canals are not exactly run-of-the-mill. Some seem to be built higgledy-piggledy. A unique concept of modern canal houses of Amsterdam has been created by architects nineteen young and promising. Because of different designs, each street has an atmosphere of its own.
The island of Java is an architectural jewel in middle of the IJ harbor. The island is connected to the mainland by a bridge only. On Java Island close many houses have been built in recent years, designed by architect Sjoerd Soeters. A route for local traffic is located on the north side of the island. The south side has a mall with expensive houses owner occupied. A bike path with gardens on both sides dissects the island. Every inch of the island is used and the density of housing is high.
When first proposed the new channels that share the island were close controversial because they are very shallow by the standards of Amsterdam. They were considered more aesthetic than functional. A gateway makes a distinctive style has been built to allow the pedestrian connection to the whole island. Despite the limited width of the island, Development retains an atmosphere with an urban avenue that crosses the spine developments. Pier parking and encourage mixed uses the traditional ambience beside the canal. New bridges connect the island of Java to other sections of the docks of the East. A city on water has been developed for people to enjoy.
