Cup Espresso
Most of Mr. Coffee Steam Espresso are covered and one is driven pump. Personally, I think the steam duct can not really produced a good espresso, and that is the reason why I thought only the pump driven machine is good for espresso.
So what is the definition of espresso? Whatever the taste or appearance of this drink, coffee, very basic thing that must have an espresso is crema. But, unfortunately, machinery, steam driven from Mr. Coffee are not able to achieve.
The reason for the brewed coffee does not come with cream because of the low pressure in the extract. You must be at least 12 bar pressure to extract a good cup of espresso, but for most Mr. Coffee machines, steam engine, the highest pressure they can handle 8 bars.
If you have tried coffee from these machines, you would note that this is not intense, but it is bitter. A full-bodied espresso is bitter with a hint of sweetness but these cafes are just bitter.
This bitterness has nothing to do with the extraction of coffee. He is bitter because he is burned. As steam powered and the steam is above the boiling point, So when it touches the ground coffee, most of the time it burn the ground coffee, resulting in bitter coffee.
And because this is using technology of steam, the brewing process depends heavily on the boiler, which takes a long time to heat. Thus, the waiting time is another drawback important for Mr. Espresso coffee.
In addition, a boiler has a fixed quantity of steam, so there is a limited number of drinks you can do before the water must be re-boiled. On average, you can do about 4 espresso and if you need to use steam to froth for cappuccino then you can only Brew 2 espressos.
Therefore, it is certainly not a machine for parties or large gatherings. Time waiting would probably hamper the festive spirit.
The single engine driven pump that Mr. Coffee has enough pressure to extract espresso ECMP would be 50. This is one of their latest machines that pump driven and can extract the ground coffee with up to 15 bar pressure.
The espresso machine also has a thermo block which would reduce your waiting time between each drink and a patented frother ensures that your cappuccino can be foam properly. In short, it is almost like buying a commercial espresso machine.
So if you want to buy some machines Mr. Coffee espresso, ECMP 50 is the only machine-driven pump which is able to extract good espresso, the rest of the steam-driven machines may not be able to achieve the quality of espresso you want.
