Painting and papering is so much simpler if you have the right gear to hand. See our list of kit and you'll avoid those last indents minute to the hardware store.
Paint Roller
Buy short and telescopic handles to reach the walls. The best value rollers have synthetic heads, which are ideal for painting smooth surfaces with emulsions and water-based paints.
Brushes
Buy brushes of the highest quality you can afford, look after them well and they should last for years. You will need a 50mm for doors and 100 mm for walls, floors and ceilings. The small brushes, and brushes 2.5cm frame (used for cutting) are indispensable to the work sheets.
Wire Brush
To remove the flaking paint and rust.
Paperhanging scissors
Extra-long blades help you cut straight lines.
Masking tape
Do not count on your painting being a precise Always use tape to cover the wall outlets and window frames for a professional finish.
Sponge
Keep mess to a minimum: a good sponge can absorb the paint and glue spills quickly and easily.
Scraper

Spills occur so use a dustsheet to cover and protect walls and furniture.
Paste brush
Glue Brushes Pasting specialist have softer bristles, so theyÂ're easier to use, but you can use a large brush up.
Bac Paint
Make sure that ita is large enough to accommodate rollers and paint pads. A section deep end will hold more paint, so they have to fill youÂ'll less often.
Wallpaper Table
A W-Paste table leg is very sturdy and folds flat for easy storage. Plastic models are easier to clean than wood
