what is the best AMO for action 60 years old lever Marlin 336?
I had the lever action and had the dealer make the country work on it would be best to take amo through him for hunting deer? and what would be best for target shooting? Mind you 60 years and has probably not been fired in 8 or 9 years. oh its a 30-30, and Ya why do not I ask the dealer? : P
All modern factory ammunition works in your Marlin, assuming that the dealer has checked your gun and found it to be in good operating condition. Those who manufacture ammunition .30-30 (Remington, Hornady, Winchester, Wolf, federal) does not really mean separate charges for target shooting and hunting. You'll find flat-ended or round nose ammunition at either 150 or 170 grain offerings, and most are suitable for both perforated paper and deer harassment. A few laps specialty are available. For example, Hornady offers ammunition LeverEvolution which employs .30-30 raised to 200 meters. You can also find cowboy tailor loads bullet cast from Corbon. Of course, you can still get into handloading and a variety of new options arise. The limitation the one you have is that you can not really use Spitzer bullets in your personal expenses. That is, unless you want to use your Marlin 336 like a shot rifle. Good luck.
