One One

One One

If you want your children to learn and retain a new skill or concept, how to teach this skill or concept you think that works best? Look on the teaching strategies listed below and choose the one that you think have the greatest impact on retention equipment.

Explain to them verbally.

After having read the documents themselves.

Demonstrate skills so that they can see that it is done correctly.

After they make themselves.

Test them on it.

No items listed creates the greatest impact of the retention of material. The teaching strategy that has the greatest impact on the commemoration of skills or concepts are not listed here.

There are two ways to measure retention of material. The first is to measure the percent of material is stored. The second is to measure the length of time the equipment is stored before it is forgotten. Explain skill orally is not the most effective way to promote either percent of material retained or the length of time for which it is stored. Is not having children read the material themselves, which demonstrates the skill, making them do it themselves, or to test them on it. The most large amount of material retention occurs when children teach a concept or skill to someone else.

Education one jurisdiction to another person moves the concept of short-term memory to long term. If you explain how to do long division to another person two or three times, they may never understand the process, but you (the explainer) will experience greater clarity and learning. When you learn a skill or concept, you should think about this, formulate in your mind, rehearse how you want to explain, say high voice, and adjust your answers to the questions and the learner's level of understanding. You may have to find new examples, new words to explain, and new ways of thinking about the skill or concept in question. Initiate this process you used (the teacher) as much as it does the learning. It increases your retention level.

So what does all this mean for parents? This means that if you want your child to learn something well, he or she has to teach it to someone else.

To help your ten years, remember the steps in the supply dog, have explained how to feed the dog with his younger sister.

Ask your teen to teach the rules of safe operation of the lawnmower to your spouse or friend.

Encourage your toddler to say that the baby four important things to do to get your cleaning teeth when they brush. The wonÂ't baby learn the skill, but your toddler.

See One, Do One, Teach One is a strategy interesting that combines the advantages of different learning styles. This process comes from the medical model. Medical students in general someone sees first put on a splint, then put on a splint, and then teach someone else to put on a splint. The process is to see them modeled the skill, do themselves, and then teaching the art of another student. Maximum Results Learning when the learner goes through these three activities.

Every Saturday morning, the Warner family cleaned their house for two hours before they attended their individual programs. All children and parents have different responsibilities for cleaning during the ritual Saturday morning. Mr. Warner has bathrooms.

When it came time to teach children how to clean the bathrooms, Mr. Warner has decided to start with the toilets. He Associated oldest first child and demonstrated the correct cleaning toilets inside (see the One) as he talked about each important steps involved. The child then went downstairs and cleaned the toilet in the bathroom (Not One), Mr. Warner has looked and gave descriptive information and corrective.
The following Saturday, the eldest child explained how to clean a toilet (Teach One) to the second oldest child.

See one, DO One, Teach One process was repeated until all three children knew how to clean the toilets. Mr. Warner was among a number more parents who realize that if you want a behavior, we must learn to behave. He also knew that if you want to conduct a recall, you must enable the learner to learn the behavior.

Do you recall the see one, Do One, Teach One philosophy for helping children develop important knowledge and concepts? If yes, teach it to someone else.
