For years, manufacturers of thermal binding equipment have been spreading rumors that Unibind covers will not work in a binding machine heat. In fact, I have been told that heat Binding machines do not include hot enough to melt the glue in the Unibind machines. This is simply not true. In fact, if there is a linkage problem Unibind covers in a machine thermabind is that the temperature gets too hot. I tried running some Unibind spines and covers in my thermal machine and these are some of the things I discovered.

As I mentioned above, there have long been rumors that the machines Thermabind not getting hot enough to melt the glue for binding supplies Unibind. However, in my tests, I found that this was not true. In fact, I tested a number of different heat engines and none of them had a problem melting the glue. However, there were some problems that I note that you must be careful.

1. Well no thermal binding machines that I tested had problems with melting glue, some have put off too much heat. Spines steel which were covered with imitation leather finish type may have been affected by this excess heat. This prompted the arrival to be melted or discolored on the spine of steel. A machine model I tested has a variable temperature control and better operated on lower temperature settings. However, all thermal systems have this type of adjustment. When the machines had this problem, the only two solutions I found was to take the book from the unit before the time had expired binding track or use a piece of paper between the plate from the heat and spine to protect the finish.

2. Some of the thermal binding machines test pieces were flexible plastic to help keep your documents close to the heart of the machine during binding. These work well with Unibind spines. However, I must be careful when removing the covers from the machine so that the spine was not detected on pieces of plastic. This was mainly a problem with spines of steel back and not with steelbook covers of steel or glass.

3. It is important to bear in mind that you are limited to the capacity of your machine when binding Unibind covers in your heat engine. Many machines on the market will only accept a document which is an inch thick. This corresponds to a coverage Unibind is the maximum of 23mm or 25mm.
